How to taking care
Caring for your Zericote/Hardwood product is very easy. Just keep in mind that it is a tropical alive dead wood. Exposure to extreme heat, cold, or dryness can lead to cracking and twisting. Please place your bowl/vase in a plastic bag and seal it till you have reached your destination. Simply rub a very thin coat of furniture wax, food grade mineral oil for food use and seal it back in the plastic bag. After two days, apply the oil again but open up a 1/8" hole on the bag. Apply every two-three days for two weeks time. This process limits the amount of air surrounding your product, especially when there is a large difference between the amount of moisture in the wood and your home/office, but the air in the bag is saturated, and it reaches the moisture content of the wood, it slows down and finally stops. After two weeks, apply again, then your bowl/vase should be content with your local moisture. To clean off the grease, wipe with a damp cloth, dry and polish. Do not soak in water, as this will cause to cracking, twisting or mold.
